| Lansallos is a real gem, a great place for anyone booking holiday cottages. A tiny village in a picturesque rural setting amidst National Trust land in East Cornwall, a great favourite with walkers and wildlife spotters (local wildlife and sea birds; with bird sanctuaries and other places for bird spotting enthusiasts - including Looe Estuary which is within easy travelling distance). Leading from the holiday cottages and next to the historic old Church is a pretty, sunken footpath lane (known as Smugglers Lane) down to the beach, the walk taking under 15 minutes. You will now be on the good sandy beach (holidaymakers tell us it is good for beach fishing for cod) and of course you will also be right on the spectacular coastal footpath. Walk the 3 miles coastal footpath to Polperro and also to Polruan and other points along the coast. Lansalloshas been dedicated as a Site of Special Scientific Interest and has an abundance of plantlife and bird spotters will want to search out the cliff birds. other footpaths lead off through valley woodlands. On the coastal footpath there are plenty of places of interest to look out for such as Pilchards Palace at Palace Cove. Enjoy the cliff and sea views from Pencarrow Head. Lansallos really is a great place to enjoy a quieter rural self catering holiday, the accommodation we offer on our site being modernised and well equipped. We have four cottages and each cottage is offered at a reasonable and affordable price. No. 1 Rose Cottages sleeps 2 people and the other three holiday cottages sleep 4 people. Further afield from Lansallos is Polperro and a little further along the coast is Looe, always a great favourite, combining both the attractions of its fishing village character with its good sandy beaches which conveniently border the shops and cafes. Upon arriving at Looe you may be confused as to where to park. There is in fact a huge car park which is in East Looe, a short Stroll from the main bridge over the river. Walk the short distance from the car park, over the bridge, into East Looe. |
